WASHINGTON –
Melissa Riggins advanced to the quarterfinals in the 800-meter run on Thursday at the 2022 NCAA East Preliminary Championships as
Charlotte Dannatt and
Maggie Donahue both qualified for NCAA Championships in the 10,000-meter run in Eugene in June. The NCAA East Preliminaries, held on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington, still have two days of competition left as the men close out competition tomorrow and the women on Saturday.

HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
- Freshman Riggins ran in the sixth of six heats today in the 800-meter first round where she finished fourth. Advancing to the quarterfinals On time, she clocked 2:05.84, just shy of the leader at 2:04.20. Riggins will run in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
- Maggie Donahue placed fourth overall in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 34:26.27 after her consistent pace kept her high in the pack throughout the race. With her time, she qualified for the finals of the event at the NCAA Championships.
- Charlotte Dannatt finished just behind Donahue in seventh at 34:27.22 as she was able to keep pace with the pack and break forward just enough to put herself in the top 10. The graduate student also secured herself a trip to Eugene for the 10,000m finals.
