WASHINGTON – Parker Stokes competed in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Thursday night at the USATF Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon where he qualified for the finals on Saturday.
Matthew Payamps and
Jack Salisbury also competed this evening in the 1,500-meter run where the duo finished just outside the final's qualifying time to cap the 2022 outdoor track season.

Parker Stokes
- The junior finished eighth in heat one with a time of 8:28.84 and had the 13th fastest time of the night in the steeplechase. The 14 qualifiers advance to Saturday's final at 5:04 p.m. ET
Matthew Payamps
- Payamps placed 12th in heat three of the 1,500-meter run. The junior matched pace with the race leader through the 1,200-meter mark and finished just short with a time of 3:46.49.
Jack Salisbury
- The graduate student was just a few seconds off of heat two's leader at the 800-meter mark and crossed the finish line with a time of 3:42.97 to come in seventh.
Josette Norris
- Alum Josette Norris C'19 earned an automatic spot in the women's 1,500-meter finals as she finished second in the third heat with a time of 4:10.47. She will compete on Saturday at 4:40 p.m. ET.
