WASHINGTON - The Georgetown men's and women's cross country teams head to Bethlehem, Pa. for the Paul Short XC Invitational hosted by Lehigh University. The event will be held on Friday, September 30 with the meet starting at 9:30 a.m. The women's team sits at No. 18 in the national rankings poll from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), while the men's team is tabbed No. 17.

- The Georgetown men are ranked 17th nationally in the USTFCCCA rankings. They are also tabbed as the No. 1 squad in the Mid-Atlantic region.
- The Hoyas closed the 2021 season with a 22nd-place showing at the NCAA Championships. Shea Weilbaker was the top finisher for the Hoyas as he clocked 30:06.8 over the 10,000-meter race.
- The men return a wealth of talent this season, including Parker Stokes, Shea Weilbaker, Quinn Nicholson, Matthew Payamps and Price Owens.

ABOUT THE NO. 18 GEORGETOWN WOMEN
- The Georgetown women are ranked 18th nationally in the USTFCCCA rankings. They are also tabbed as the No. 1 team in the Mid-Atlantic region.
- Maggie Donahue returns as the reigning BIG EAST individual champion, becoming just the fifth Hoya to win the event. Donahue also earned All-America honors for her performance in the NCAA Cross Country Championships last season. Donahue opened her season at the Coaching Tree Invitational where she finished fifth with a time of 20:24.6 in the 6,000-meter race.
- Sami Corman, the 2020 BIG EAST individual champion, led the Hoyas with a second-place finish at the Coaching Tree Invitational clocking a time of 20:20.3.
- Georgetown finished the 2021 season with an 18th-place showing at the NCAA championships, with Donahue (30th) and Corman (44th) finishing among the top 100.
