Hoyas Fall to Temple on the Road

Box Score WASHINGTON – The Georgetown field hockey team fell to the Temple University Owls 1-0 on Friday evening in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. With the loss, the Hoyas fall to 3-8 on the season and 0-3 in conference play, while the Owls advance to 8-3 on the season and 2-1 in conference play.
 
How it Happened
  • The first quarter was scoreless, and Ciara Weets made two saves for the Blue & Gray.
  • Despite presses from the Owls in the second quarter, neither team was able to find the back of the net and the 0-0 score stood at halftime. 
  • The Hoyas and Owls remained deadlocked through three quarters of play in a defensive battle from both teams.
  • With two minutes left in the game, Nienke Oerlemans scored off a penalty corner to put the Owls head 1-0.

  • Ciara Weets made ten saves in the match for the Hoyas.
