WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University track & field program competed in the Navy Select on Friday, February 17 in Annapolis, Maryland. In the women's 3000m and the men's mile, GU was able to sweep the top four spots in each event to close out a strong day for the Blue & Gray.

RECAPPING THE WOMEN
Friday Navy Select
- In the Long Jump, Chloe Williams took third place with a mark of 5.38m.
- Mackenzie O'Connor finished sixth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.52.
- Pippa Nuttall was fantastic in the mile event finishing in first place with a time of 4:55.66.
- In the 400m event, Renee Newton dazzled taking second place with a time of 57.06. Hoya teammate KC Ashiogwu grabbed a fifth-place finish with a time of 58.16.
- In the 1000m event, three Hoyas took three of the top four spots. Chloe Gonzalez finished in first with a mark of 2:48.79 while Chloe Scrimgeour was the next Hoya to cross the finish line in third with a time of 2:55.13. Alexandra Stout rounded out the Hoyas finishing in the top five with a fourth-place finish. Stout clocked a time of 2:59.93.
- In the 200m event, Jadah Fitzgerald clocked a time of 24.73 which was good for a first-place finish.
- The Hoyas had a stellar finish to the day in the 3000m event sweeping the top four spots in the race. Scrimgeour led the way clocking a time of 9:40.07, GU teammate Gonzalez crossed the line shortly after with a mark of 9:40.46. Kate Tavella and Nuttall rounded out the top four finishers. Tavella finished with a time of 10:01.07 and Nuttall finished just behind her with a mark of 10:01.42.

Friday Navy Select
- In the long jump, Christopher Pitt finished second with a mark of 6.53m.
- Andrew Robinson grabbed a third-place finish in the 60m event with a time of 7.02.
- GU took the top four spots in the mile event with Parker Stokes leading the way. Stokes clocked a time of 4:07.93 while teammate Owen Johnson grabbed a second-place finish with a time of 4:09.40. Mateo Althouse and Jantz Tostenson were the next two finishers for the Blue & Gray clocking times of 4:09.84 and 4:11.65, respectively.
- In the 400m event, Sean Hewitt grabbed a second-place finish with a time of 49.30 while Hoya teammate Joshua Peron finished in fourth with a time of 49.53.
- Theo Woods was able to secure a second-place finish in the 800m event with a mark of 1:52.27.
- In the 200m, Kadari Mitchell dazzled grabbing a second-place finish with a time of 22.00 while fellow GU teammate Peron finished in fourth with a mark of 22.61.

The Blue & Gray will be back in action on Friday, February 24 and Saturday, February 25 for the BIG EAST Indoor Championships in Chicago, Ill.
