WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team will travel to Annapolis, Maryland on Tuesday for a 3 p.m. game against the Navy Midshipmen. GU is coming off their first opening weekend series win since 2012 when they beat Charleston Southern 2-1. The Hoyas took down Presbyterian 2-1 in the series with a 4-3 win on Friday and a 5-3 win on Sunday.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- Georgetown is coming off of a 32-24 season in 2022 which set the record for most wins in a season in program history.
- The Hoyas return 20 players from last season including now school record holders Ubaldo Lopez and Jake Hyde who each hit 19 home runs a season ago.
- GU added a plethora of talent this season with eight freshmen and 10 transfers coming to the Hilltop.
- In the Blue & Gray's opening weekend, Lopez picked up where he left off a season ago. Hitting home runs on Friday and Sunday. Owen Carapellotti and Cam Meyer also had home runs this weekend with Carapellotti sending one over the scoreboard and out of the park on Saturday.
- Lopez hit .364 and so did fellow teammate and newcomer Austin Kretzschmar while Christian Ficca (.300), Carapellotti (.250) and Michael Eze (.250) all hit .250 or better this weekend.
- Cody Bowker and Andrew Citron made their first collegiate appearances for the Blue & Gray. Bowker was also able to record his first hit in Sunday's matchup.
- Head Coach Edwin Thompson enters his third season on the Hilltop. After a 6-25 season in 2021, Thompson guided the Blue & Gray to 32 wins last season which is the most in program history. The team also ranked 17th in the country for home runs with 98.
ABOUT NAVY
- The Midshipmen are 0-3 to start the season after dropping contests to No. 19 Virginia (24-5), UNCW (8-0) and Ohio (27-9).
- Brock Murtha hit .636 in three games with seven hits and one RBI.
- Navy has given up six home runs in three games and have allowed their opponents to score a combined 59 runs thus far.
- Head Coach Paul Kostacopoulos enters his 18th season at the helm of the Midshipmen.
