WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team will travel to Wilmington, North Carolina for a four-game series against Iona and UNC Wilmington. GU will play each team twice with the first contest being against Iona on Friday morning with first pitch coming at 11 a.m. Georgetown will face UNCW on Saturday before a doubleheader on Sunday with one game against each opponent.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- Five different Hoyas have hit home runs this season and program record holder Lopez leads the team currently with two.
- Michael Eze leads the team at the plate batting .438 while Lopez is second on the team with an average of .429.
- GU currently has four players batting above .300 who have played in all four games and the team has six home runs so far this season.
- Head Coach Edwin Thompson enters his third season on the Hilltop. After a 6-25 season in 2021, Thompson guided the Blue & Gray to 32 wins last season which is the most in program history. Thompson captured his 200th career win in Tuesday's matchup against Navy.
- Georgetown is coming off of a 32-24 season in 2022 which set the record for most wins in a season in program history.The Hoyas return 20 players from last season including now school record holders Ubaldo Lopez and Jake Hyde who each hit 19 home runs a season ago.
ABOUT IONA
- The Gaels currently sit at 1-2 after dropping their opening weekend series against Radford.
- Jake Field leads the Gaels at the plate with five hits in 11 at bats which is good for a .455 average. Field also has Iona's lone home run of the season.
- Jayson Gonzalez is hitting .400 on the season thus far with four hits in 10 plate appearances.
- On the mound, Michael Lorenzetti is 1-0 for the Gaels after picking up the opening day win against Radford in a 3-1 contest.
- Head Coach Connor Burke is in his second season at the helm of Iona.
ABOUT UNCW
- Tanner Thach is batting .500 on the season with five hits in 10 plate appearances. He is also tied for the team lead in home runs with one.
- Trevor Marsh is tied for the team lead in home runs and triples while leading the team in doubles with one.
- Jacob Shafer is 1-0 on the mound for the Seahawks in seven innings of work he allowed five hits no runs and struck out eight batters.
- Randy Hood is in his fourth season at the helm of the Seahawks.
