WASHINGTON –
Chloe Scrimgeour won the 5000m at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships in Chicago, Illinois today. Her time of 16:05.73 earned her first-place by nearly five seconds.
RECAPPING THE WOMEN (6th of 9; 18 points)
- Chloe Scrimgeour was crowned champion of the 5000m at the BIG EAST Indoor Track & Field Championships after running a blazing time of 16:05.73. Scrimgeour was lethal in her final lap extending her lead immensely. Scrimgeour finished nearly five seconds faster than her next opponent and she picked up 10 points for her first-place finish.
- Hoya teammate Sami Corman ran stellar race as well finishing in fifth place with a time of 16:35.73. Corman picked up four points for her fifth-place finish.
- Maya Drayton had an outstanding day qualifying for the finals in the 200m and the 400m. She clocked a times of 24.34 and 55.15 respectively.
- Chloe Williams finished fifth in the long jump with a mark of 5.70m. Williams fifth-place finish gave GU four points.
RECAPPING THE MEN (7th of 8; 9 points)
- Rusty Kujdych grabbed a sixth-place finish in the 5000m with a time of 14:07.97. GU grabbed three points from Kujdych's stellar effort.
- In the distance medley relay team took fourth-place with a time of 9:45.16. With a fourth-place finish, GU picked up five points for their finish.
- Joshua Paige had a stellar day qualifying for the finals in both the 60m and the 200m. Paige clocked times of 6.89 in the 60m and 21.42 in the 200m.

Georgetown returns to action on Saturday with the final day of the BIG EAST Indoor Track & Field Championships. The women's mile run is the first race GU will compete in and is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. The meet will be covered live on the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN).
