Hoyas Host Second-Ranked Notre Dame on Saturday

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team welcomes former BIG EAST foe and second-ranked Notre Dame to the Nation's Capital on Saturday at noon. The No. 15/17 Hoyas host the Fighting Irish on the Hilltop for the first time since 2012.

About Georgetown
  • The Hoyas are ranked No. 15/17 in the national polls after a 9-7 loss to then-No. 11/10 Penn last weekend.
  • Tucker Dordevic leads the Hoyas with eight goals on the season while Graham Bundy Jr. has four goals to go with two assists and Brian Minicus has three goals and three assists on the year for six points each.
  • Aidan Carroll, Jacob Kelly and Nicky Solomon each have a goal and an assist so far while Patrick Crogan has found the back of the cage once as well.
  • James Reilly has taken all but one faceoff so far this season won 24-of-28 (.500) while collecting 14 ground balls.
  • Defensively, Wallace Halpert has been credited with four caused turnovers on the year while Will Bowen has added three. Minicus and Dylan Hess both have a pair as well.

Scouting Notre Dame
  • The Fighting Irish are 2-0 on the season after a pair of home wins against Marquette and Cleveland State.
  • Ranked No. 2 in both the USILA and Inside Lacrosse media polls, Notre Dame is the highest ranked team to take on the Hoyas in D.C. since second-ranked Loyola came to town in 2014.
  • The Irish are led by Chris Kavanagh with nine goals and six assists for 15 points while his brother Pat is right behind him with two goals and 12 assists for 14 points.
  • Notre Dame's main faceoff specialist, Will Lynch, is 26-43 (.605) on the season with 16 ground balls.
  • On the defensive end, Chris Fake, Brian Tevlin and Quinn McCahon have each been credited with three caused turnovers.
  • In goal, Liam Entenmann owns a 2-0 record with a 9.03 GAA and a .484 save percentage. He has collected 15 saves on the year.
Series History
  • The Hoyas and Irish have played 18 times since Georgetown's inaugural varsity season in 1970.
  • Notre Dame holds a narrow 10-8 series lead, but the Blue & Gray snapped a six-game losing streak with a 16-11 win in South Bend, Indiana last season.
