WASHINGTON – Georgetown senior
Jake Bloss was tabbed as the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference on Wednesday. Bloss was excellent on Sunday for the Blue & Gray in his seven innings of work helping lift the Hoyas to a 13-2 victory.

- The Greensboro, North Carolina native was superb in his first start of the season for the Hoyas throwing for seven innings.
- In Sunday's 13-2 win over Iona, Bloss recorded 10 strikeouts which is a season high for him and five short of his career high.
- Bloss allowed two hits and no runs while holding opponents to a .083 batting average on the day. His seven scoreless innings on the mound contributed to GU's 27-consecutive scoreless innings on defense over the weekend.
- This was Bloss' first win as a Hoya after transferring from Lafayette last season where he was named First Team All-Patriot League.
OF NOTE
- Teammate Ubaldo Lopez was also named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the second-consecutive week.
- Lopez was pivotal during the Hoyas 4-1 week which consisted of 27-consecutive innings of holding their opponents to zero runs.
- The Miramar, Florida native went 6-for-15 at the plate while having a .400 batting average. Lopez earned eight walks across five games while chipping in one home run, two doubles and five RBIs.
- Lopez set a program record in homeruns a season ago with current teammate Jake Hyde when the duo hit 19 home runs a piece.
