WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team will travel to State College, Pennsylvania for a three-game series against Big Ten opponent Penn State. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- Georgetown currently sits at 11-6 after going 5-2 in their last six games. GU picked up back-to-back shutout wins downing both Hartford and Coppin State 10-0.
- Three Hoyas are hitting above .300, Zaid Walker (.359), Austin Kretzschmar (.311) and Ubaldo Lopez (.301).
- Michael Eze leads the team in home runs this season with five after hitting three in his last six games.
- Christian Ficca and Eze hit back-to-back home runs last weekend for the first time since April 5 of last season against Maryland Eastern Shore.
- Kai Leckszas picked up his first-career win on the mound Wednesday in GU's dominant win over Coppin State.
- Lopez has a team-high 15 walks this season while Austin Kretzschmar and Walker are tied for second on the team with nine each.
- Jake Bloss dominated last Sunday for GU going eight innings allowing one hit and punching out 11. It was Bloss' second honor of the season as he previously won the award after a seven-inning, 10-strikeout performance against Iona (2/26).
- Cody Jensen went 2-0 on the mound last week picking up wins against George Mason and Hartford. Jensen recorded a 1.12 ERA and struck out eight batters in eight total innings of work.
ABOUT PENN STATE
- Penn State comes into the series with a 9-6 record after winning two games in its three-game series against Brown.
- Thomas Bramley leads the Nittany Lions at the plate with a .340 batting average. He has a slugging percentage of .560 and an on base percentage of .500.
- Jay Harry and Kyle Hannon lead the team in home runs with three each. Harry is tied for the team lead in triples with one and Hannon is tied for second on the team in RBIs with nine.
- On the mound, Travis Luensmann has been stellar for Penn State in 19.1 innings of work this season. Luensmann is 3-0 and has 20 strikeouts on the season with a 3.26 ERA.
