Georgetown Falls to No. 9 East Carolina

Box Score WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team fell to the No. 9 East Carolina Pirates 11-2 in Greenville, North Carolina on Sunday. GU will return to action Tuesday against George Mason on the road.

ON THE RECORD
"What a great baseball game today. Unfortunately, we came up short of a comeback there, but I have to give our guys credit. To be down 3-0 against the No. 9 team in the country, and to get it to 3-2 in the eighth was great we just unfortunately ran out of gas, and they took advantage of it because that is what good teams do. Jake Bloss and Tyler Mead were really good for us, and Jake Hyde hit a big home run when we needed it to get things going. Really proud of our group, unfortunately, when you play a team like this, you can't give them freebies and one inning we did and unfortunately that's how the game got away from us. Looking forward to getting back to work this week and playing again on Tuesday." - Head Coach Edwin Thompson
