WASHINGTON – Three Georgetown University men's lacrosse players were recognized with BIG EAST weekly accolades, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Jacob Kelly was named the BIG EAST Attack Player of the Week,
James Reilly was tabbed Midfielder of the Week and
Patrick Crogan was named the Freshman of the Week. The trio led the Hoyas to a 13-11 victory over Providence on Saturday to improve to 6-3 overall and 2-0 in league play.
Kelly moved up from playing midfield to make his first start at attack this season. He scored three goals and added three assists in Georgetown's victory while netting the eventual game-winning goal. He added nine ground balls as well.
Reilly won 17 of 21 (.809) faceoffs against the Friars while collecting 15 ground balls for the second time this year, tied for the fifth most by a player this season. Georgetown collected 63 ground balls in the game, most by a Division I program this season. Reilly had two goals as well.
Crogan found the back of the cage twice against Providence to earn his third BIG EAST Freshman of the Week accolade this season.
Next up for Georgetown, the No. 9/10 Hoyas hit the road for the first time since March 4 to take on Marquette on Saturday, April 15 in Milwaukee.
