WASHINGTON – Following a regular season with many new milestones, the Georgetown University women's golf team is poised for the postseason as they are in South Carolina for the 2023 BIG EAST Women's Golf Championships. The three-day, three-round tournament will be held on the par-72, 6,190-yard course at the Riverton Pointe Golf and Country Club on April 17-19.

- Rounds 1 is scheduled for Monday, April 17, followed by Round 2 (Tuesday) and Round 3 (Wednesday). The first tee time is scheduled for 8 a.m. with the Hoyas starting at 8:50 a.m. in 10 minute increments.
- For the first time in championship history, the event will be streamed online. Gamekast proudly presents live coverage of the2023 BIG EAST Conference Women's Golf Championships. - Megan Gormley finished tied for second at the Lady Bison Invitational after carding a 4-over 220 (74-72-74). She totaled a squad-best nine birdies for the tournament, which was tied for second best among the field. For the year, Gormley has carded six rounds under par and two even par. When she managed a 4-under 67, it was a new collegiate personal best for the junior.
- Gabriella Gilrowski tied for eighth last week at 12-over 228 (76-79-73), saving her best golf for the final round at 1-over. During the regular season, Gilrowski has nine rounds under and a pair of rounds even at par. Gilrowski managed to close the fall on seven-consecutive rounds under par, including a pair of rounds at her collegiate-best 4-under 68 to take first place at the Pirate Collegiate Classic. Gilrowski carded a 9-under 207 (68-71-68) to win the Pirate Collegiate Classic in the fall. Her 207 is the best individual 54-hole score for a Hoya. It was the first tournament win since Christina Parsells' win at the 2019 Hoya Invitational.
- Kaitlyn Lees was also 12-over 228 (79-75-74) at the Baltimore Country Club last week to tie for eighth place. Competing during the spring portion of the season, Lees has managed one round at even par.
- At the Lady Bison Invitational, Lauren May finished 13th overall at 15-over 231 (74-84-73). This season, May tallied an 18-hole collegiate best with a 2-under 69 at the Atlantic Invitational.
- In the tournament hosted by District neighbor Howard, Esther Park carded a 9-over 225 (75-79-71). She was 1-under for the final 18 holes, marking the best round of her spring season.
- As a team, the season has seen impressive achievements. Last week's win at the Lady Bison Invitational was the first team tournament win since the 2019 Hoya Invitational. The squad managed a new team best 18-hole score with a 284 in the third round of the Atlantic Invitational. At the same tournament, the team crushed the 54-hole team score with a 17-over 869 (293-292-284).
ABOUT THE BIG EAST CHAMPIONSHIPS
- In 18 BIG EAST Championships that the Hoyas have participated in, the team has twice been crowned the winner with back-to-back wins in 2017 and 2018.
- Georgetown has been the runner-up seven times, most recently in 2022 when the team posted the lowest team round score at the BIG EAST Championships with a 289.
- Since 2014, the Hoyas have only once not been among the top two teams having turned in a runner-up performance five times and twice won the championships.
- In 2022, the team carded a 28-over 892 (302-289-301) at Callaway Gardens - Mountain View in Pine Mountain, Georgia. Megan Gormley finished fourth, followed by Lees (T10th), Park (T10th), Gilrowski (13th) and May (T15th).
