WASHINGTON – A pair of Georgetown University men's lacrosse standouts were named 2023 Tewaaraton Award Nominees, as announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation on Thursday. Graduate students Will Bowen and Tucker Dordevic are now two of just 25 student-athletes in the running for the preeminent lacrosse award, annually honoring the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States.
 
Five men's and five women's finalists will be announced on May 11. The Tewaaraton Award recipients will be chosen after the conclusion of the regular season.
 
Georgetown is one of six schools with two nominees, trailing only Notre Dame's three.
 
Bowen is a three-time Tewaaraton Award nominee, previously earning the honor as an undergrad at North Carolina in 2021 and during his first season with the Hoyas in 2022.
 
Dordevic is also a repeat Tewaaraton Award nominee, having collected the honor in 2022 at Syracuse.
 
Twelve different Hoyas had previously earned Tewaaraton Award Nominee status while three, Jake Carraway (B'20, M'21), Brodie Merrill (C'05) and Steve Dusseau (C'01), have been named finalists. This marks the third year that Georgetown has had two nominees after Brendan Cannon (C'08) and Jerry Lambe (C'08) in 2008 and both Walid Hajj (C'04) and Merrill in 2004. The Hoyas had three nominees in 2002 with Bowen, Graham Bundy Jr. and Owen McElroy (B'21, S'22).
