WASHINGTON – The Georgetown track & field team took one step closer to the championship portion of the season as the squad split sites between the EKU Rick Erdmann Twilight Meet and the Virginia Challenge over the weekend.
 
HOYA HIGHLIGHTS

• In Richmond, Kentucky, Parker Stokes clocked 8:34.67 in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, taking second in the event.
• Maggie Donahue won the women's 10,000-meter run in a time of 33:37.22 with Andrea Claeson following just seven seconds behind to take second (3:44.22)/
• Abel Teffra, competing in the invitational section of the men's 1,500-meter run, timed in at 3:40.17 to finish sixth overall. It was a personal best for Teffra.
• In the invite section of the women's 1,500-meter run, Sami Corman finished sixth in both her heat and the event in a season-best 4:18.20.
• Pippa Nuttall crossed the finish line in 4:30.31 in the women's' open 1,500-meter run, a personal best as she was third in the fast second heat. Not far behind was Alexandra Stout in seventh (4:35.40).
• In the men's 200-meter dash, Joshua Paige timed in at 21.09 to finish fifth overall and fourth in the seventh heat. He also managed to run a season-best 10.53 in the 100-meter dash prelims.
• Chloe Williams jumped 5.97m (19' 7") in the women's long jump, which was good enough for eighth place.
• In the women's 400-meter hurdles, Renee Newton managed a 1:02.28 to finish ninth while teammate Grace Smiechowski went in a personal-best 1:03.31 to finish 11th.

The Hoyas will return to action next week for the 2023 Penn Relay Carnival from Thursday to Saturday, April 27-29. The three-day track meet will be held at historic Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.
