WASHINGTON – Despite rainy and cold conditions, the Georgetown track & field team competed at the Duke Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Durham, North Carolina. The two day meet was held at Morris Williams Stadium on the campus of Duke University and marks the second time this outdoor season the Hoyas have raced in the Tar Heel State.
ON THE RECORD
"The weather was less than ideal, to say the least, but we still had some very competitive performances from our middle distance runners. Riggins running 2:04.81 in a downpour secured a time which surely will get her into the regional meet. On the men's side Woods, Payamps, Rizzo and Teffra ran as well as could be expected based on the conditions. The focus is always on what we can control so we will look forward to upcoming meets and better conditions to produce good times and marks." - Director of Track & Field / Cross Country
