WASHINGTON – Making its 11th NCAA Quarterfinals appearance, the Georgetown University men's lacrosse team takes on second seed Virginia on Saturday at Casey Field in Albany, New York. The Hoyas are the seventh seed in the draw and advanced to the quarterfinals following a thrilling 19-17 victory over Yale in the first round last weekend.

About Georgetown
- The Hoyas are 13-3 on the year and have won 13-straight games, the longest active winning streak in the NCAA.
- Four players – Will Bowen, Graham Bundy Jr., Tucker Dordevic and Brian Minicus – were recently named Media All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse. Bowen was a second team honoree, Bundy and Dordevic were third team awardees and Minicus collected an honorable mention nod.
- Dordevic and Bundy were both also tabbed USA Lacrosse Magazine Second Team All-Americans while Bowen earned a third team selection.
- Dordevic, a Tewaaraton Award finalist, leads the Hoyas with 76 points (63G, 13A) and ranks third nationally with 3.96 goals per game. Minicus has 54 points (31G, 23A) and Jacob Kelly adds 47 (20G, 27A). Nicky Solomon is good for 42 points (33G, 9A), Bundy has 40 points (30G, 10A), TJ Haley has 25 (1G, 24A) and Declan McDermott has 23 (15G, 8A).
- James Reilly has won 217-of-370 (.586) faceoffs while collecting 155 ground balls. He has hauled in at least 10 ground balls in 10 of Georgetown's 16 games this season and ranks third nationally with 9.69 ground balls per game.
- Defensively, Will Bowen has been credited with 28 caused turnovers to lead the BIG EAST with 1.75 a game. Wallace Halpert adds 24 while Will Tominovich has 21.
- In goal, Danny Hincks is 7-3 on the year with a 10.34 goals-against average to go with a .530 save percentage and 117 saves.
- As a team, Georgetown is top-10 nationally in man-up offense (second overall, .607), ground balls per game (second overall, 38.81), clearing (second overall, .920), points per game (fourh overall, 23.50), scoring offense (sixth overall, 14.88), scoring margin (sixth overall, 4.12), fewest turnovers (ninth overall, 14.44) and assists per game (ninth, 8.62).
Scouting Virginia
- The Cavaliers (12-3) earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and defeated Richmond 17-8 in the first round to advance to face the Hoyas.
- Xander Dickson leads Virginia with 77 points (58G, 19A) while Tewaaraton Award Finalist Connor Shellenberger adds 68 (21G, 47A) and Payton Cormier has tallied 60 (49G, 11A).
- The main faceoff specialist for Yale is Petey LaSalla at 240-424 (.566) on the season with 121 ground balls.
- On the defensive end, Cole Sausted has been credited with 32 caused turnovers and 36 ground balls.
- In goal, Matthew Nunes has started 14 of Virginia's 15 games. He owns an 11.47 GAA to go with a .529 save percentage and 183 saves on the season.
Series History
- The Hoyas and Cavaliers have played five times dating back to 1984 with Virginia owning a 5-0 series advantage.
- The two squads last met in the 2021 NCAA Quarterfinals in Hempstead, New York with UVA claiming the 14-3 victory.
- Georgetown and Virginia also faced off in the 2003 and 2006 NCAA Quarterfinals, both Cavalier wins, and a regular season home-and-home series in 2015 and 2016.
