WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's Ana Orriols was named 2023 Lightweight Athlete of the Year by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association. The prestigious award is given to the athletes who have achieved the most remarkable individual efforts for their teams in the 2023 season. Athletes are nominated by their coaches to be voted on by an awards committee at the CRCA.

• Orriols won the award for her work as the stroke for the Hoyas' lightweight V8+ boat. 
• This past June, she helped lead her boat to the bronze medal at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship Regatta.
