Hoyas Return to Action with Nittany Lion Challenge

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's track & field program will continue its season with its first meet of 2024 with the Nittany Lion Challenge this Saturday. The Hoyas are competing in their third competition of the winter, following an impressive pair of showings on December 2 at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener and the Youree-Spence Garcia Invitational.
 
About the Georgetown Men
  • Freshman Tinoda Matsatsa was extremely impressive in his first meet, winning the 800m with a 1:49.58 time at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.
  • Christopher Pitt performed extremely well at the Youree-Spence Garcia Invitational, finishing fourth in the long jump and 11th in the 60m dash.
 
About the Georgetown Women
  • At the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, Chloe Scrimgeour set a new school record for the 5000m run with a 15:24.36 finish, earning her BIG EAST Female Athlete of the Week honors.
  • Graduate student Maya Drayton broke another Georgetown record, finishing first in the 300m with a 38.85 time at the Youree-Spence Garcia Invitational.
