Field Hockey Closes Out 2024 Campaign at Liberty, Longwood

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's field hockey team wraps up its 2024 schedule with a pair of road games in Virginia this weekend. The Hoyas travel to take on No. 18 Liberty in the BIG EAST finale on Friday before playing at Longwood on Sunday.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown (3-12, 1-5 BIG EAST) dropped a pair of games last weekend to Providence and VCU.
  • On the year, Sophie Towne leads the Hoyas with three goals and two assists for eight points. Sydney Yodh has two goals and three assists for seven points while Colleen Maloney has three goals and an assist for seven points as well.
  • Izzy Lee and Elena Perez Alejandro both have two goals and an assist for five points while both Lily Jamison and Elena Leahy add a goal and two assists for four points.
  • In goal, Ella Fahey has started 12 games this season, including the last five, and has a 3.19 goals-against average to go with 94 saves and a .712 save percentage.
Scouting Liberty
  • Friday's game is slated for 3 p.m. in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Scouting Longwood
  • Sunday's game is set for 12 p.m. in Farmville, Virginia.
  • The Lancers are 4-11 on the year and are coming off four-straight losses. Longwood hosts James Madison on Friday before welcoming the Hoyas in both teams' season finales.
  • Zoe Tierney leads Longwood with six goals and an assist for 13 points while Luna Prieri adds five goals and an assist for 12 points.
  • In goal, Sophie Mooldijk has started the last 13 games and has a 2.09 GAA with 100 saves and a .769 save percentage.
  • Georgetown and VCU last faced each other in 2022 with the Lancers winning 3-2 in the Nation's Capital.
