Hoyas Travel to Madison to Face Badgers

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's basketball team will head out for its first road contest of the season as the Hoyas travel to Madison, Wisconsin to take on the University of Wisconsin Badgers on Sunday afternoon at the Kohl Center. The opening tip is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.

  • Georgetown is 1-0 on the season after an 88-31 season opening victory over Virginia University-Lynchburg at McDonough Arena on Wednesday afternoon.
  • Junior Victoria Rivera was one of five Hoyas in double figures with a career-best 19 points including a 5-of-9 performance from beyond the arc.
  • Graduate student Kelsey Ransom added 16 points and eight boards, senior Ariel Jenkins had 10 points and seven rebounds.

  • Serah Williams led the way with a 29-point and 12-rebound double-double, while Ronnie Porter managed a career-high 19 points.
  • UW had just seven turnovers and shot 45.6 percent in the win.
  • Williams secured a spot on both the Coaches and Media Preseason All-Big Ten Teams when the league announced preseason honors. She averaged 17.4 ppg to go along with 10.7 rpg a season ago.
