WASHINGTON – The Georgetown university track & field program competed in three different meets this past weekend: The Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational at Liberty University, Tiger Paw Invitational at Clemson, and Valentine Invitational at Boston University.
In three competitions across the East Coast, the Hoyas were headlined by
Chloe Scrimgeour and
Melissa Riggins, who both broke the school record for the indoor 3000m at Boston University, and
Abel Teffra who broke the school record for the mile.

Abel Teffra smashed the school record in the mile. I've long believed he was this good but it's nice to see a result validate my thoughts. Overall the men are competing very well which is exciting. Women's Results
- Both Chloe Scrimgeour and Melissa Riggins broke the Georgetown record for the indoor 3000m at Boston University. Scrimgeour set a new school record with a 8:50.97 time to finish eighth and Riggins now holds the second best time in school history with a 8:52.82 time that was good for tenth.
- In the open 400m Grace Smiechowski set a new career best with a 57.311 finish. She finished first in the open bracket at the Darius Dixon Invitational.
Men's Results
- Abel Teffra set a new school record for the indoor mile with a 3:54.62 finish at the Valentine Invitational.
- Sophomore Nicholas Givan set a new personal bet in the 400m at 48.35 to finish second in his heat at the Tiger Paw Invitational.
