WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team will host the UAlbany Great Danes at Capital One Park in Tysons, Virginia this weekend for a three-game series. Game one is scheduled for Friday, March 15 with first pitch coming at 11 a.m. rather than the originally scheduled time of 3 p.m.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- Georgetown (10-6) comes into the series winning seven of their last eight with their lone loss coming on the road to then-No.1 Wake Forest in Winston-Salem. GU swept Fairleigh Dickinson, swept a doubleheader against Cornell and picked up two midweek wins this week over George Washington and Delaware. Wednesday's victory over Delaware is the first time the Hoyas have beaten the Blue Hens since April 4, 1990, when the Hoyas captured a 6-5 victory.
- Owen Carapellotti was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday for his performances in a 2-1 week for the Hoyas. Carapellotti was dominant, slashing .600/.714/.900 on the week recording six hits, six runs scored, one double, one triple and nine RBIs.
- Freshman Marcello Mastroianni was also named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after a fantastic outing against Cornell. The Little Silver, New Jersey native went five innings allowing one hit and zero runs while fanning five Cornell batters en route to his second win of the season.
- The Hoyas are third in the BIG EAST in batting average (.296), tied for first double plays (15), third in doubles (33), second in the conference in hit by pitch (30), third in hits (154), second in hits allowed per nine innings (9.07), second in on base percentage (.417), second in runs (127), second in scoring (8.5 rpg), tied for first in shutouts (1), second in slugging percentage (.492) and tied for first in triples (6).
- Georgetown is tied for second in the country in team saves with eight on the season trailing only Arkansas who has nine.
- Andrew Williams leads the BIG EAST in ERA with a 1.15. Christian Ficca is tied for first in the conference in hits with 25 which ranks 57th nationally and is second in the conference in RBIs (23) which is good for 46th nationally. Ficca is also ranked 13th in the nation in toughest to strike out. Jake Hyde leads the BIG EAST in home runs with five. Carapellotti is first in the conference in on base percentage (.522). Nick Davis is first in the conference in saves (5) and also ranks fifth nationally.
ABOUT UALBANY
- UAlbany (0-11) dropped a midweek contest to Army 9-4 in West Point, New York. Prior to the Army game, the Great Danes were swept in a four-game series against Purdue losing each contest by five or more runs.
- Will Binder leads UAlbany at the plate slashing .270/.378/.324 with two doubles and five RBIs on the season.
- Owen Birkman leads the Great Danes on the mound this season with a 6.00 ERA in 15 innings of work. Birkman enters the weekend with an 0-3 record and has allowed 10 earned runs and struck out 11 this season while walking seven.
