WASHINGTON –
Georgia Ruffolo has been named the BIG EAST Conference Female Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday. Ruffolo earns the honor following a pair of tournaments for the Hoyas, including the 2024 Lady Bison Invitational, an individual win for the junior as the team successfully defended its title from a season ago. The tournament was held on the par-71, 5,990-yard course at Hawkstone Country Club in Gainesville, Florida.
GEORGIA RUFFOLO (JUNIOR / TAMPA, FLORIDA / ACADEMY OF HOLY NAMES / WAKE FOREST)
- Ruffolo won her first collegiate tournament when she carded an even 213 (74-68-71).
- Her 3-under 68 in the second round was the best of the tournament for the Hoyas and she closed on an even 71 in the final round fueled by a pair of birdies and 14 pars.
- Over 54 holes, the junior managed eight birdies and 38 pars.
- Her efforts led the Hoyas to successfully defending their title at Howard University's Lady Bison Invitational as the squad was 21-over 873 (300-284-289) over the three-round tournament held at the Hawkstone Country Club in Gainesville, Florida.
- This is the first weekly honor of Ruffolo's career and the fourth week the Hoyas have earned the accolade this season with a trio of honorees on September 20 and Morgan Smith earning a pair of individual honors on October 11 and November 1.
