WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's eighth-ranked men's lacrosse team kicks off BIG EAST play on the road at Providence on Saturday. The No. 8/9 Hoyas head to Rhode Island with a 6-2 overall record after concluding nonconference play while the Friars host the Blue & Gray with an overall record of 4-5.

- The Hoyas (6-2) are coming off a 14-8 road victory at then-No. 18/17 Richmond in the nonconference finale.
- Alexander Vardaro led Georgetown with a season-high five goals, Aidan Carroll added two goals with two assists, TJ Haley chipped in a goal with three assists and both Graham Bundy Jr. and Joe Cesare had two goals and an assist.
- Patrick Crogan found the back of the cage twice while James Ball, Kade Goldberg and Chase Llewellyn each notched lone assists.
- Ball won 14-of-23 (.608) faceoffs and collected seven ground balls to go with his assist
- Defensively, Georgetown's defense held its sixth-straight opponent to 10 goals or fewer.

- On the season, Carroll leads the Hoyas in scoring with 29 points (20G, 9A) while Haley adds 28 points (6G, 22A), Bundy adds 24 (17G, 7A) and Vardaro has 22 (17G, 5A). Cesare and Jordan Wray add 13 (9G, 4A) and 12 (11G, 1A) points, respectively, to round out the players in double figures.
- At the 'X', Ball has won 98 of 159 (.616) faceoffs to rank 11th nationally and collected 50 ground balls in eight games this season.
- Defensively, the Blue & Gray have held their opponents to 10 goals or fewer in each of the past six games.
- Halpert has been credited with 10 caused turnovers while Dylan Hess has eight and Banks has seven.
- In goal, Moore has a 9.56 goals-against average to go with a .534 save percentage and 86 saves.
Scouting Providence
- The Friars are 4-5 to start the season with wins over Holy Cross, Brown, Merrimack and Stony Brook.
- Ryan Bell leads PC with 40 points (14G, 26A) while Richie Joseph adds 32 (25G, 7A), Chris Cusolito has 23 (13G, 10A) and Jack Horrigan adds 20 (15G, 5A).
- Defensively, Ian Olenik has been credited with 15 caused turnovers to go with 21 ground balls.
- In goal, James Corasaniti, the reigning BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year, has started all nine games for the Friars. He has a 13.56 GAA to go with 94 saves and a .445 save percentage this season.
- On faceoffs, Tom Fegley and Quinn McConnaughey have shared equal time at the dot, combining to win 108-of-240 (.450) attempts on the year. The duo has combined for 49 ground balls, including 31 from Fegley.
Series History
- Saturday's meeting will be the 20th all-time between the two programs with Georgetown holding a 17-2 series lead.
- The Hoyas have won the past eight meetings, including twice in 2024 with a 13-11 regular season victory in the District and a 19-8 win in the BIG EAST Championship Semifinals in Milwaukee.
- Providence's two wins came in the first meeting of the two teams in 1987 and in 2017 at Chapey Field.
