WASHINGTON – Playing its first midweek game of the season, the No. 11/10 Georgetown University men's lacrosse team heads to North Carolina to face High Point on Tuesday evening. The Hoyas are riding a three-game winning streak and are coming off a dominant defensive performance on Saturday which saw three GU players earn BIG EAST Weekly Honors.

- The Hoyas (3-2) defeated Brown 11-5 on Saturday for their third win in-a-row.
- For their efforts, Wallace Halpert was named the BIG EAST Specialist of the Week, Anderson Moore earned his third-straight BIG EAST Freshman of the Week award and TJ Haley earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
- Georgetown's defense was stellar against the Bears, holding Brown scoreless for over 20 minutes during two separate stretches of action and only allowing four goals against the starting rotation. Brown's five goals were tied for the second fewest allowed in Division I last week.
- Halpert posted four caused turnovers to go with seven ground balls while Moore collected 11 saves and posted a .733 save percentage in the win.
- Offensively, eight different Hoyas found the back of the cage including six different players on GU's first six goals of the game.
- Haley quarterbacked the offense with a goal and three assists while Alexander Vardaro had two goals with two assists and Joe Cesare had two goals and an assist.
- On the season, Haley leads the Hoyas in scoring with 20 points (4G, 16A) while Aidan Carroll has 14 (11G, 3A) and Graham Bundy Jr. adds 13 (10G, 3A) points.
- At the 'X', James Ball has won 53 of 91 (.582) faceoffs and collected 28 ground balls in five games this season.
- Defensively, the Blue & Gray have held their opponents to 10 goals or less in each of the past three games.
- Halpert has been credited with six caused turnovers while Wesley Chairs, Dylan Hess and Carroll all have three.
- In goal, Moore has a 10.40 goals-against average to go with a .505 save percentage and 53 saves.
Scouting High Point
- The Panthers are 4-2 to start the season with wins over Mercer, VMI, Queens (N.C.) and Cleveland State. Both losses have come to top-10 opponents in then-No. 2 Duke and then-No. 7 Syracuse.
- Brayden Mayea leads HPU with 31 points (21G, 10A) while Jack VanOverbeke chips in 28 (13G, 15A). Nick Rizzo has 18 points (9G, 9A) and Tommy Meehan has 10 (8G, 2A).
- Defensively, Zack Brenfleck has been credited with eight caused turnovers while John Adams adds seven.
- On faceoffs, Collin Hoben has taken the lion's share of the attempts and has won 72 of 124 (581) to go with 42 ground balls.
- In goal, Zack Overend has started all six games and owns an 11.78 GAA to go with a .475 save percentage and 58 saves.
Series History
- Georgetown and High Point will meet for just the fourth time on Tuesday.
- The Hoyas own a 2-1 mark in the series.
- Georgetown won the last game of the series 22-10 on the Hilltop last season. The Hoyas also won 15-5 in the District in 2018 while High Point's lone win was a 9-3 victory at home in the 2017 season opener.
