WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team will host Cornell for a doubleheader series this weekend at Capital One Park in Tysons, Virginia, the new home of the Hoyas. Saturday's contest has been canceled due to inclement weather in the area. Sunday's doubleheader is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. and game two will begin 45 minutes after the conclusion of game one.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- Georgetown (6-6) is coming off a weekend sweep of Fairleigh Dickinson, marking the Hoyas first sweep of the 2024 campaign. On Tuesday, The Hoyas squared off with No. 1 Wake Forest dropping the contest 11-9 in Winston-Salem.
- Christian Ficca earned a nod to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll last week for his performances in a 3-1 week for the Blue & Gray. Ficca slashed .526/.550/.947 with 10 hits, two doubles, two home runs and 11 RBIs in four games. The senior chipped in 11 RBIs and three runs scored with one walk. Ficca leads the BIG EAST in doubles with six and is 34th in the country, he is second in RBIs (16), third in hits (18) and fourth in batting average (.383).
- Junior Andrew Williams also earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after a stellar 5.1 inning outing against FDU last weekend. Williams boasted a 1.69 ERA and allowed four hits, two runs, one earned run, zero walks while fanning eight FDU batters.
- Nick Davis is currently ranked ninth in the country in saves with three in 7.2 innings of work.
- Jake Hyde ranks tied for second in the BIG EAST in doubles with five, leads the conference in home runs (5), tied for third in RBIs (15) and leads the conference in total bases (39).
- Everett Catlett leads the Hoyas on the mound with a 1-0 record and he has recorded 16 innings of action on the mound. Catlett recorded a season-high five strikeouts vs. No. 1 Wake Forest on Tuesday.
- Marcello Mastroianni picked up his first collegiate win against Fairleigh Dickinson last Sunday going five full innings while fanning four and allowing only one run.
ABOUT CORNELL
- Cornell (1-5) enters the weekend after being swept by the James Madison Dukes 5-1, 8-5 and 7-5.
- Caden Wildman leads the Big Red at the plate slashing .333/.462/.429. Wildman has seven hits, two doubles, one RBI and four walks on the season.
- Ethan Hamill leads Cornell on the mound with a 4.32 ERA in 8.1 innings of action. Hamill has allowed eight hits, four runs, four earned runs, two walks and has struck out four.
