WASHINGTON – Four Georgetown University men's lacrosse players earned BIG EAST weekly honors, as announced by the league office on Monday.
James Ball was named the BIG EAST Specialist of the Week while
Graham Bundy Jr.,
Seamus Foley and
Alexander Vardaro each earned a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll following a 15-10 win at Providence in the conference opener.
Ball went 16-for-26 (.615) at the faceoff dot against the Friars. He hauled in a career-high 11 ground balls, his first career game with double-digit GBs.
Bundy had three goals and an assist in the win at Providence. He eclipsed the 200 career point mark in the process. With 203 points, he is just the fourth Hoya to amass 200 career points in program history.
Foley helped Georgetown's defense hold its seventh-straight opponent to 10 goals over fewer. He was credited a career-high three caused turnovers to go with a pair of ground balls. Georgetown's man-down defense was a perfect 0-for-2 on the day.
Vardaro led the Hoyas with a game-high four goals to go with two assists while tallying the game winner against the Friars. All four goals came in the second quarter alone as the Hoyas outscored PC 9-1 in the frame.
