Men’s Lacrosse Wraps Up Home Slate on Senior Day

WASHINGTON – Playing in its final regular season home game of the 2024 season, the Georgetown University men's lacrosse team hosts St. John's on Saturday, April 20. The game will serve as Senior Day for 16 Hoyas playing their final game at Cooper Field.
 
On the Air
  • Opening faceoff for Saturday's game is set for 12 p.m. and will be shown on the BIG EAST Digital Network with Jeremy Huber and Earl Brewer calling the action.

About Georgetown
  • Georgetown (8-3, 2-1 BIG EAST) is coming off its first BIG EAST loss of the season with a 10-8 setback at then-No.7/10 Denver on Saturday.
  • The Hoya defense held its eighth-straight opponent to 10 goals or under against the Pioneers.
  • All eight Georgetown goals came from eight different Hoyas as TJ Haley scored a goal to go with two assists while Graham Bundy Jr., Aidan Carroll, Kade Goldberg and Chase Llewellyn each had a goal and an assist.
  • Patrick Crogan, Alexander Vardaro and Jordan Wray all had a lone goal for the Blue & Gray.
  • James Ball won 10-of-22 faceoffs and collected five ground balls.
  • Ty Banks was credited with three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
  • In goal, Anderson Moore (8-3) had seven saves in the loss.

Wray has 15 points (13G, 2A) while Joe Cesare (9G, 5A), Crogan (12G, 2A) and Goldberg (3G, 11A) all have 14. Llewellyn rounds out the Hoyas scoring in double figures with 11 points (9G, 2A).
  • At the 'X', Ball has won 124 of 209 (.593) faceoffs to rank 12th nationally and has collected 66 ground balls in 11 games this season.
  • Defensively, Halpert has been credited with 14 caused turnovers while Banks has 12 and both Seamus Foley and Dylan Hess each have 10.
  • In goal, Moore boasts a 9.50 goals-against average – eighth best in the NCAA – to go with a .523 save percentage and 113 saves.
Scouting St. John's
  • The Red Storm (4-9, 1-2 BIG EAST) are coming off back-to-back BIG EAST losses after winning their first league game since 2016 on March 30.
  • Brian Kelly leads SJU with 38 points (25G, 13A) while Bobby Seel had 36 points (24G, 12A) and Caleb Zuhoski adds 20 points (16G, 4A).
  • On faceoffs, Dane Armstrong and Adam Dembicki split duties and have won 149-of-306 (.486) attempts to go with a combined 70 ground balls.
  • Defensively, Jack Schirtzer has been credited with 19 caused turnovers and collected 17 ground balls so far this season.
  • In goal, Kyle Munson has started 11 games and has a 13.06 GAA to go with 125 saves and a .496 save percentage.
Series History
  • Saturday's meeting will be the 23rd all-time between the two programs with the Hoyas holding a narrow 19-3 series lead.
  • Georgetown has won the past seven meetings and are 11-1 all-time at home in the series.
  • The Red Storm's last win came in 2016 in Queens.
