WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University track & field program began competition in the Penn Relay Carnival on Thursday, April 25th at the historic Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
On day one, the Hoyas competed in six events with three top-10 finishes.
HOW IT HAPPENED - DAY 1
- Maggie Donahue took bronze in the women's 10000m. Remaining near the front of the leader pack from the third minute, Donahue finished with a time of 33:16.90 for third place.
- Mary Hennelly ran the 3000m steeplechase in 10:08.34 for 6th place overall, setting a new personal best.
- Grace Smiechowski took third in her heat and 26th overall in the women's 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:02.01.
- Nicholas Givan took first in his heat and 9th overall with a 52.32 finish in the men's 400m Hurdles.
- Jantz Tostenson took 23rd with a 9:07.86 finish in the 3000m steeplechase
- Sean Laidlaw took 24th in the men's 5000 with a time of 14:14.52.

The Hoyas will continue action at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia tomorrow, April 27, first taking the track at 1:10 p.m.
