Georgetown Women Take Fourth, Men Take Fifth at BIG EAST Championships

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University track & field program closed out competition at the 2024 BIG EAST Outdoor Championships on Friday, May 10 in Villanova, Pennsylvania.
Nine Hoyas won championship titles across three events, while 10 other Hoyas recorded podium finishes.

With all events scored, the Hoya women take fourth place with 114 points. The Hoya men take fifth place with 80.

ON THE RECORD
"We're very proud of the team effort across the board by our men and women who competed on Saturday's final day of the BIG EAST Championships. Podium finishes are always the goal, but making it to a final and scoring points for the team is what Championship meets are all about. One of the highlights of the day was Melissa's performance in the 1500m, taking the win from the first gun to the finish line in a new BIG EAST meet record. Was also great seeing a veteran like Camden Gilmore close out his BIG EAST Championship with an excellent anchor leg to claim victory in the 4x800m Relay.

With having several regional qualifiers, we're looking forward to continuing the post season; and hoping to have the season extended for as many of our men & women as possible." - Director of Track & Field / Cross Country Alton McKenzie
