HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team will make its 12th overall appearance in the NCAA Quarterfinals as they take on top-ranked defending national champion Notre Dame on Saturday in Hempstead, New York. The seventh-ranked Hoyas are the only team to defeat the Fighting Irish this season and eye their first trip to the NCAA Semifinals in 25 years.

About Georgetown
- The Hoyas (13-3) are coming off a 12-9 comeback victory over Penn State in the NCAA First Round on Sunday. Georgetown trailed 7-2 in the game, and 9-7 going into the fourth quarter, before blanking the Nittany Lions 5-0 in the final frame for the win.
- Jordan Wray led Georgetown with four goals on four shots while Jack Schubert added three goals and an assist.
- Patrick Crogan scored twice, Aidan Carroll had a goal and an assist while both Ty Banks and Graham Bundy Jr. scored lone goals as well.

- On the season, Carroll leads the Hoyas with 58 points (36G, 22A) while TJ Haley adds 50 (12G, 38A), Bundy chips in 45 (32G, 13A) and Vardaro has 44 points (29G, 15A). Crogan and Wray both have 22 points (19G, 3A each), Joe Cesare and Schubert have 16 points, Kade Goldberg adds 15 points and Chase Llewellyn chips in 14 points.
- At the 'X', Ball has won 186 of 313 (.594) faceoffs and collected 96 ground balls in 16 games this season.
- Defensively, Banks has been credited with 23 caused turnovers while Wallace Halpert and Dylan Hess have 16 and both Seamus Foley and Wesley Chairs add 13.
- In goal, Moore has a 9.10 goals-against average to lead the NCAA to go with a .527 save percentage and 158 saves.
Scouting Notre Dame
- The Fighting Irish are 13-1 overall on the year and coming off a 14-9 win against UAlbany in the NCAA First Round.
- Notre Dame, the top-ranked team in the nation and top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, is the defending National Champion and won the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament.
- Pat Kavanagh, a Tewaaraton Award Finalist, leads ND with 65 points (25G, 40A) while his brother, Chris Kavanagh, adds 64 points (31G, 33A). Jake Taylor chips in 41 points (38G, 3A) and Devon McLane is good for 39 points (31G, 8A).
- On faceoffs, Will Lynch has won 157-for-259 (.606) with 89 ground balls.
- Defensively, Will Donovan has been credited with 17 caused turnovers while Chris Conlin adds 16.
- In goal, Liam Entenmann is also a Tewaaraton Award Finalist. He has a 9.31 GAA to go with 159 saves and a .558 save percentage this season.
Series History
- Saturday's meeting will be the 21st all-time between the two foes with Notre Dame holding a narrow 11-9 series lead.
- The two squads have met three times in the past three seasons with the Hoyas owning a 2-1 record in that span, including an 11-10 overtime win in South Bend this season to hand the Fighting Irish their only loss this year.
- Georgetown and Notre Dame have met once in the NCAA Tournament previously, a 14-10 Hoya victory in 1999 en route to the NCAA Semifinals.
