WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team had six student-athletes named to an All-BIG EAST team this season, tying the program record that was set last season. Senior
Christian Ficca was tabbed as the BIG EAST Player of the year making him the second Hoya in program history to earn the award. Nick Collins ('15) was the first Hoya to ever receive the honor.
Ficca was joined by
Everett Catlett and
Joe Hollerbach on the All-BIG EAST First Team. GU has now had three players named to the all-conference first team in back-to-back seasons for the first time in program history.

Owen Carapellotti and
Jake Hyde were named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
Christian Ficca, Sr. | BIG EAST Player of the Year – All-BIG EAST First Team
- Ficca became the second player in program history to earn the conference's player of the year award.
- He is just the fifth individual to capture a major BIG EAST postseason award, joining Brian O'Hare (1996 Pitcher of the Year) Nick Collins (2015 Player of the Year), Owen Carapellotti (2022 Freshman of the Year) and Jake Bloss (2023 Pitcher of the Year).
- In conference action, Ficca started all 22 games for the Blue & Gray slashing .368/.484/.566. The Chevy Chase, Maryland native earned 13 walks in conference action, second most on the squad.
- On the season, Ficca has been sensational, slashing .362/.466/.604 with 75 hits, 15 doubles, one triple, 11 home runs and 34 walks.
- The senior has a team-high 63 RBIs, a mark good for 50th in the nation. Ficca also moved into second most RBIs in a season in program history trailing only Steve Iannini who had 70 in 1985.
Everett Catlett, R-So. | All-BIG EAST First Team
- Catlett was sensational in conference action this season boasting a 3-1 record while posting a league-best 1.80 ERA across 35 innings of action.
- On the season, Catlett had a 6-1 record with a 2.85 ERA across a team-high 72.2 innings on the mound.
- The Manassas, Virginia native struck out 79 batters this season, a mark that ranks tied for eighth most in a season in program history.
- Catlett allowed only 23 earned runs while holding opponents to a .230 batting average. He also helped the team post two of its five shutouts on the season which tied a program record.
Joe Hollerbach, Gr. | All-BIG EAST First Team
- Hollerbach was dominant in conference play this season, slashing .405/.494/.541 across 19 games. The graduate student tallied 30 hits, four doubles, two home runs and 11 RBIs in conference play.
- In 51 games this season, Hollerbach posted a .332 batting average to go with .432 on base percentage and .495 slugging percentage.
- The graduate student tallied 61 hits, six doubles, eight home runs and 41 RBIs to go with 16 walks and 14 hit by pitches.
Cody Bowker, So. | All-BIG EAST Second Team
- Bowker was stellar in conference action posting a 4-0 record and a 2.30 ERA across 27.1 innings of work.
- The sophomore allowed seven earned runs while walking only 10 batters. Bowker led the team in strikeouts in conference action with 37 across his six appearances.
- The Bowdoinham, Maine native posted a 5-1 record on the season with a 2.61 ERA across 41.1 innings of action.
- Bowker was second on the team in strikeouts with 53 and also helped the team post two of its five shutouts.
Owen Carapellotti, Jr. | All-BIG EAST Second Team
- This is Carapellotti's second-consecutive season being named a second team All-BIG EAST selection. The junior slashed .266/.379/.519 in conference action appearing in and starting all 20 games. Carapellotti hit five doubles, five home runs and recorded a team-high 26 RBIs.
- The Canton, Michigan native hit .286 on the season with 11 doubles, three triples, 14 home runs and 51 RBIs. Carapellotti also earned 35 walks this season, tied for second on the team.
- The junior was hit by 13 pitches this season and was behind the plate in all five shutouts the Hoyas have recorded this season.
- Carapellotti was named to the Buster Posey Award Watch List this season. The award recognizes the best collegiate catcher in the nation.
Jake Hyde, Sr. | All-BIG EAST Second Team
- This is Hyde's second-consecutive season being named a second-team All-BIG EAST selection. The senior slashed .253/.347/.422 in conference play starting in all 20 games for GU.
- Hyde hit .287 on the season with 62 hits, 19 doubles, one triple, 11 home runs and 47 RBIs. The Darien, Connecticut native earned 35 walks and was 2-for-2 on stolen base attempts.
- The senior broke the program record for career home runs this season and currently has 46 homers in his Hoya career. He also has the fifth most doubles in a single season this year with 19.
