WASHINGTON - The Georgetown women's cross country team heads to Annapolis, Maryland to compete in The Cantello Invitational on Saturday, September 7th. This is the second meet of the year for the women after kicking off the 2024 campaign in the BIG EAST Preview on August 30th. The women's team enters the meet as the No. 16 ranked program in the national preseason poll from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) and is also the top team in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

	The meet begins at 9:00 a.m. EST with the women's 5,000-meter race. The women's 6,000-meter race is set for 9:45 a.m. EST. 
ABOUT THE NO. 16 GEORGETOWN WOMEN

	The Georgetown women enter the meet ranked 16th nationally in the most recent USTFCCCA poll. The women have also retained the top spot in the Mid-Atlantic region for the second-consecutive week.

	Cate Joaquin led the Hoyas last time out, finishing second overall at the BIG EAST Preview. The Hoyas had five total runners, who all finished with an average pace of under 7:00 minutes/mile.

	The Hoya lineup for the 5k features three runners who competed in the BIG EAST Preview last week: Mary Grace Hegberg, Mia Pasha, and Emilia Puskas. The lineup for the 6k features four newcomers: Lucy Jenks, Victoria Ketzler, Fiona Max and Ruth Nerurkar.
