WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's women's cross country program competed in the Cantello Invitational this Saturday morning. The No. 16 women's team first in the 6k, with the top three finishers all being members of the Blue & Gray. Lucy Jenks led the women's team in its second outing of the season.
ON THE RECORD - "It's great to see new teammates executing race plans on a challenging course, especially as season openers for most, and then the progress from those that raced back-to-back weeks. Tomkinson and Justema from the Open 5K leveraged the presence of the other. They got us started by staying connected over some challenging hills, and the trio of Nerurkar, Jenks and Max were a poised group in the 6K commanding the front from the start. Four of those five were racing for the first time in a Georgetown singlet, so their discipline and commitment to working together was a great first step."- Head Coach Mitchell Baker
