Megan Gormley was named the BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league on Wednesday. The recognition comes after the graduate student was the top Hoya finisher in a stacked field at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge, held in her hometown of Palos Verdes Estates, California. Georgetown finished 16th with a team score of 75-over 927 (305-316-306) in the field that featured 14 teams ranked among Clippd's top 50 on the par-71, 6,017-yard course at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.
MEGAN GORMLEY (GRADUATE STUDENT / CAPTAIN / PALOS VERDES ESTATES, CALIF.)
- Gormley finished the three-round tournament as the top Hoya in the field, carding a 13-over 226 (75-78-73) to sit in a tie for 64th place.
- The co-captain carded a 2-over 73, her best round of the tournament, on the final day after recording a pair of birdies and 12 pars.
- She totaled eight birdies for the tournament to go along with 28 pars.
- This is the fifth Golfer of the Week honor of Gormley's career and the third of the season for the Blue & Gray after a pair of distinctions in the fall (Gormley - September 11; Georgia Ruffolo - October 24).

The Hoyas will return to action at the end of the month when they head to the Daniel Island Invitational hosted by the College of Charleston. The two-day tournament will be held on February 24-25 at the Daniel Island Golf Club in South Carolina.
