WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team hosts top-ranked defending national champion Notre Dame at Cooper Field on Saturday afternoon. The No. 11 Hoyas are playing their third-straight nationally ranked opponent of the season while the Fighting Irish are playing their first road game – and first contest outdoors – of the 2025 campaign.

- The Hoyas are ranked No. 11 in both the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Coach's Poll and the KANE Inside Lacrosse Media Poll after three weeks of action.
- Georgetown is coming off a hard-fought victory after an 8-6 defensive slugfest against then No. 13 Penn.
- Fulton Bayman led Georgetown with two goals and an assist while Jordan Wray added a pair of goals – including the game winner.
- Aidan Carroll had a goal and an assist while Joe Cesare, Ross Prince and Jack Ransom each scored once as well. Owen Horning and Charlie McGurrin were both credited with assists on the day.
- Prince had another impressive day at the dot, winning 10 of 16 (.625) faceoffs and adding a pair of ground balls to go with his goal.
- Defensively, Robert Plath and Seamus Foley were both credited with two caused turnovers while Ty Banks added another. Banks and Plath both had a pair of ground balls as well.
- Anderson Moore (2-1) posted eight saves in the win and collected a team-best five ground balls.
- On the season, Bayman leads the Hoyas with 10 points (6G, 4A) while Carroll has eight (3G, 5A). Cesare and Wray both have five points on the year.
- Defensively, Plath has six caused turnovers on the season while Foley has five and Banks has four.
- Prince has won 37-of-55 (.672) faceoffs on the season.
- In goal, Moore boasts a 7.75 goals-against average with a .540 save percentage and 27 saves.
Scouting Notre Dame
- The top-ranked Fighting Irish (2-0) opened their season with back-to-back lopsided scores indoors. Notre Dame defeated Cleveland State 24-6 and Marquette 22-9.
- Chris Kavanagh leads the Irish with 13 points (6G, 7A) while Jake Taylor has 10 goals on the year.
- Defensively, Will Donovan has been credited with four caused turnovers and Nate Schwitzenberg has three.
- Utilizing a trio of faceoff specialists to open the year, Notre Dame has won 38-of-67 (.567) attempts and its three main FOGOs have combined for 22 ground balls.
- In goal, Thomas Ricciardelli has won both games, posting a 6.48 GAA to go with a .550 save percentage and 11 saves.
Series History
- Georgetown and Notre Dame have played 21 times before, including four times in the last three seasons.
- The Irish hold a 12-9 series lead, including a 16-11 victory in the NCAA Quarterfinals last May.
- Both teams have traded wins each game going back to the 2017 Patriot Cup in Frisco, Texas.
- Prior to the 2024 NCAA Quarterfinals rematch, Georgetown knocked off the top-ranked Fighting Irish in overtime in South Bend, Indiana to hand ND its only loss of the season.
- The Fighting Irish last won in the District during the 2023 regular season following a Hoya victory at Notre Dame in 2022.
