WASHINGTON- Georgetown University's track & field squads will travel to the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia to compete in the 2025 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships from Friday, March 14 to Saturday, March 15.
GU will travel 12 athletes to compete in six events.
About the Georgetown Men
- Abel Teffra was crowned the BIG EAST champion in the men's mile with a time of 4:02.75.
- Tinoda Matsatsa clocked a new BIG EAST conference championship record of 1:46.10 to secure first place in the men's mile
About the Georgetown Women
- Melissa Riggins set a new personal-best in the women's 800m at the BIG EAST championships with a time of 2:03.51 to take the first-place finish.
- At the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, Riggins recorded the fifth-fastest collegiate indoor mile in history, finishing in 4:24.98. Lucy Jenks also ran a 15:15.58 in the women's 5000m to place fifth and shatter the school record.
