WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team will make the quick trip to College Park, Maryland to face the Maryland Terrapins on Tuesday, March 18. First pitch at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium is scheduled for 4 p.m.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- Georgetown enters the contests with a 7-13 record after dropping all three games last weekend against Monmouth.
- Ashtin Gilio leads the squad at the plate, slashing .370/.500/.611 on the season. The sophomore has tallied 20 hits, four doubles, three home runs and 13 RBIs in 20 games this season. Gilio is second on the team in walks with 14 to his credit.
- On the mound, Andrew Williams leads the Hoyas with a 2-0 record and a 2.95 ERA in 21.1 innings of action. The Atlanta, Georgia native has been named the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week twice this season. Williams has struck out 21 batters this season while allowing just seven earned runs.
- Georgetown ranks third nationally in stolen bases with 66 on the season. GU only trails Wofford (72) and VMI (120).
- The Blue & Gray rank 29th nationally in base on balls (115) and is 24th nationally in sacrifice bunts (13).
- Head Coach Edwin Thompson enters his fifth season on the Hilltop after guiding the Hoyas to its most successful season in program history in 2024, posting a 36-21 record. Thompson has guided the Blue & Gray to three-consecutive 30-win seasons for the first time in program history. 2024 also marked the first time in the Thompson era that Georgetown has had a player selected in the MLB Draft in back-to-back seasons, as Everett Catlett was taken by the Colorado Rockies in the 12th round of the 2024 MLB Draft and Jake Bloss was taken in the third round by the Houston Astros in 2023.
ABOUT MARYLAND
- Maryland enters the contest with a 10-10 record after dropping two out of three against USF this weekend in Tampa, Florida.
- Chris Hacopian leads Maryland at the dish slashing .444/.579/.815 on the season. The sophomore has 24 hits, five doubles, five home runs and 27 RBIs to go with 17 walks in 16 games.
- On the mound, Kyle McCoy leads the Terps boasting a 1.72 ERA and a 3-0 record. McCoy leads the team in innings pitched with 31.1 to his credit. The redshirt-sophomore has allowed only six earned runs while punching out 30 this season.
