Box Score WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team fell 8-7 at UMBC on Friday afternoon. With the setback, GU slides to 9-17 on the season while UMBC improves to 7-12.
ON THE RECORD
"Great job by UMBC tonight. I thought their starting pitcher and guys that came out of the bullpen early on kept us off balance. I really liked our fight in the back part of the game to tie it up. That was great growth for us as a group and as an offense. We just couldn't get the big hit and they did.
Kai Leckszas was fantastic for us going five innings and he really kept us in it with some fantastic stuff on the mound. Another tough loss for us but we will regroup and be ready to go tomorrow. Make sure you come out to Capital One Park for game two of the series with a 3 p.m. first pitch. It should be a beautiful day for some baseball." - Head Coach
