Men’s Lacrosse Hosts Denver in BIG EAST Action

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team welcomes BIG EAST rival Denver, presented by Invesco QQQ, to the Nation's Capital on Saturday at Cooper Field. The No. 13 Hoyas look to remain undefeated in league play while the Pioneers aim for their first win over the Blue & Gray in the District since 2018.
 
On the Air
  • Saturday's game is set for a 3 p.m. opening faceoff and will be shown on CBS Sports Network with Jason Knapp and Steve Panarelli calling the action.

  • The Hoyas are ranked No. 13 in both the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Coaches Poll and the KANE Inside Lacrosse Media Poll.
  • Georgetown is coming off a thrilling 10-9 double overtime victory at Marquette to remain unbeaten in BIG EAST play.
  • Aidan Carroll led Georgetown with five goals and an assist, scoring the game-winner with 24 seconds remaining in the second overtime.
  • Jack Ransom notched the second hat trick of his career and Fulton Bayman dished out four assists.
  • Defensively, Ty Banks notched a pair of caused turnovers while four other Hoyas had one. In goal, Anderson Moore (7-3) collected 11 saves in the win.
  • Back in action after missing the last four games, Ross Prince won 16-of-23 (.695) faceoffs and hauled in a career-high seven ground balls.
  • For their efforts, Carroll was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, Prince was tabbed BIG EAST Specialist of the Week and Moore earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
  • On the season, Carroll leads the Hoyas with 42 points (25G, 17A) while Bayman has 39 (19G, 20A). Kevin Miller adds 20 (15G, 6A), Joe Cesare chips in 15 (12G, 3A) and Jordan Wray has 14 (7G, 7A).
  • Defensively, Robert Plath has been credited with 21 caused turnovers on the season while Seamus Foley has 14 and Banks has 13.
  • Prince has won 66-of-109 (.606) faceoffs on the season to pace the Blue & Gray while Matthew Riley and Wilson Van Buren have combined to go 63-for-134 (.446).
  • In goal, Moore has played all but 4:03 on the year and boasts a 9.29 GAA with a .518 save percentage and 98 saves. 
Scouting Denver
  • The Pioneers are receiving votes in both major polls and are coming off a 14-7 road win at St. John's in BIG EAST play.
  • Noah Manning leads Denver with 35 points (24G, 11A) while Mic Kelly adds 33 (26G, 7A).
  • Michael Kraus is the top faceoff specialist for DU, winning 107-of-231 (.463) on the year to go with 51 ground balls.
  • Defensively, Jimmy Freehill has been credited with 15 caused turnovers on the year while Chris Caldwell and Russell Overly both have 12.
  • In goal, Malcolm Kleban has started eight of Denver's 11 games, posting a 9.87 GAA to go with a .541 save percentage and 93 saves.
Series History
  • Georgetown and Denver have played 16 times before with the Pioneers owning a 9-7 series lead.
  • Denver won the last meetings, 10-8 in the Mile High City last year, but the Blue & Gray won the previous five.
  • The last Pioneer win in D.C. was a 6-5 victory in 2018.
