Four Hoyas Earn BIG EAST Weekly Honors

WASHINGTON – Four Georgetown University men's lacrosse players earned BIG EAST Weekly honors, as announced by the league office on Monday. Jack Ransom was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week while Aidan Carroll, Ross Prince and Anderson Moore each earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after the Hoyas defeated St. John's 21-8 last week.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Ransom scored six goals and added an assist in Georgetown's 21-8 victory at St. John's. He made his first career start for the Hoyas. Ransom scored four goals in Georgetown's 9-0 opening quarter and also tallied a man-down goal in the game. His 17 goals this season are the most for a freshman since Dylan Hess' 17 during his USILA Honorable Mention All-American rookie season in 2021.

Carroll scored five goals and added an assist in Georgetown's 21-8 victory at St. John's. He has scored five goals in four different games this season and twice in BIG EAST play. Carroll tallied the game-winner with Georgetown's ninth goal of a 9-0 first quarter while adding four ground balls and had a caused turnover in the game. He moved into 22nd place all-time in Georgetown's career scoring list (127 points) and reached 50 points on the season, becoming just the ninth player in program history to hit the milestone twice in a career.

Prince went 13-for-17 (.764) from the faceoff dot and tied a career-high with seven ground balls in a 21-8 win at St. John's.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Moore collected nine saves in just three quarters of Georgetown's 21-8 win at St. John's. He allowed just five goals, and only four in 6v6 situations. Moore blanked SJU in the opening quarter and held the Red Storm scoreless for the first 20:02 of the game. He allowed just one goal in the final 13:11 of his time on the field and shut the Johnnies out the final 10:20 of his time in cage.
 
Georgetown returns to action on Friday as it hosts No. 19 Villanova under the lights at Cooper Field at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network with the winner earning the top-seed in the upcoming BIG EAST Championship, presented by JEEP.
