Penn Relays on Deck for the Hoyas

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University track & field program will travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to compete in the Penn Relays from Thursday, April 24 through Saturday, April 26. America's oldest and largest track and field competition will be held at historic Franklin Field. 

Over the course of three days, the Hoyas will compete in 14 events.

THE HOYAS & PENN RELAYS

  • The Georgetown men total 26 Championship of America (COA) wins in its illustrious history, ranging from the sprint relays through the distance relays. The Hoyas have totaled an impressive six DMR wheels in addition to 11 4x800-meter relay wins.
  • Last time out, the Hoyas broke the American record in the 4xMile. Lucas Guerra, Parker Stokes, Camden Gilmore, Abel Teffra each ran a mile under-four for the Hoyas, with Teffra running a 3:54.26 anchor leg to secure third place in the meet.
  • Last time out, Jadah Fitzgerald, Rebecca Ochan, Piper Rodgers and Abbie Huey took first place in the women's 4x100 relay, running 45.68. It was the eighth-best finish in the event in Hoya history.
  • The Georgetown women have previously won the Penn Relays COA DMR three times, most recently in 2016.
  • GU totals seven women's COA wheels with the other four coming from the women's 4x800-meter run, an event the Blue & Gray garnered again in 2016.
