Hoyas Finish Day One at BIG EAST Outdoor Championship, Scrimgeour Claims Title

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's track & field program wrapped up day one at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships presented by Jeep in Storrs, Connecticut. Chloe Scrimgeour delivered a historic performance in the women's 10,000 meters, shattering the BIG EAST record with a personal-best time of 32:13.64 to capture the conference title.

Head Coach Alton McKenzie
"Great first day for the Hoyas to start off our BIG EAST Outdoor Championships. Three scorers in the men's 10K led by freshman Quinn Parish's third-place finish was certainly a great showing. On the women's side Chloe Scrimgeour defended her title in the 10K with an impressive performance…breaking her own meet record. This is great momentum for the team as we look forward to a busy Friday of competition as the prelims get underway."

Assistant Coach Mitchell Baker
"Chloe closes out a historic BIG EAST career with a fourth individual track title, her fifth championship when including cross country. There's a lot of great competition to chase as she heads into the NCAA season, but for tonight we're focused on celebrating how well she competed against a great athlete from Providence to lead our team into the championships. That was an impressive display of consistency as she led every step of the way; she put on a show and pushed the bar up again for Georgetown and the BIG EAST."

Assistant Coach Brandon Bonsey
"Quinn ran an incredible race as a true freshman. I believe he will be a huge contributor to the team moving forward. I was very proud watching him execute that race. He scored 6 points for the team and I look forward to him scoring more points for the team in the future "
