WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team has released its 2025 fall schedule, presented by MedStar Health, that features four tournaments in four different states. Of the four tournaments on the slate, the Hoyas will return to a trio of tournaments they played in during the 2024 fall season and make a return to one after a three-year hiatus.
ABOUT THE SCHEDULE
- Georgetown opens the fall slate at the Cougar Classic just as the squad did a season ago. The Hoyas will make their way to Charleston, South Carolina for the two-day tournament held September 8-9 at Yeamans Hall. Last season, Georgia Ruffolo, the reigning BIG EAST Women's Golfer of the Year, carded a 2-over 73 in the final round as she was the second Hoya on the leaderboard behind former Hoya Megan Gormley.
- The Hoyas will compete in their second tournament in the month of September with an appearance in the Nittany Lion Invitational, held September 21-22 on the Blue Course at Penn State University in State College, Pennsylvania. This marks a return for the Blue & Gray to the event for the first time since the 2021-22 season when the Hoyas tied for seventh in the 14-team field.
- Returning to a fixture on the fall schedule, GU heads north to the Springdale Golf Club on the campus of Princeton University for the Princeton Invitational. The two-day tournament, held on October 4-5 in New Jersey, will mark the ninth time in 10 years the Hoyas have appeared in the tournament, missing only the 2020-21 COVID season. Last year, the Hoyas were runners-up to the host Tigers, surging up from eighth place following the first round of action with former Hoya Charlotte Hillary leading the way in a tie for fifth place.
- Georgetown closes out the fall slate with a return to the Rehoboth Beach Country Club and the Lady Blue Hen Invitational. The two-day tournament will be held on October 18-19 and hosted by the University of Delaware. A season ago, the Hoyas finished in third place out of 10 teams fueled by a pair of top-five performances, including a runner-up performance from Ruffolo who closed the tournament on a pair of rounds under par. The duo of Ruffolo and Gormley finished every round of the tournament at or under par.
