WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's soccer team will open the 2025 campaign on Thursday, August 14 as the Hoyas welcome Old Dominion to Shaw Field for an evening contest. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. and the game will be live on ESPN+.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- Georgetown went 13-4-4 in 2024 with a mark of 8-1-1 in BIG EAST Conference action which was good enough to win the regular season championship. The Hoyas boasted two All-America selections and six All-BIG EAST selections including three major award winners. The Blue & Gray advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the 13th consecutive season and advanced to the second round before finishing the season receiving votes in the final poll.
- Maja Lardner returns for her fifth season on the Hilltop after earning BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2024. Lardner earned a spot on the All-BIG EAST First Team, All-Region First Team and was named a First Team Scholar All-American. Lardner was sensational in 2024 tallying 11 goals and seven assists while scoring six game-winners.
- Cara Martin returns between the pipes for GU after a stellar junior season in goal. Martin garnered All-BIG EAST First Team Honors and was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year after posting a 0.26 GAA, a mark that led the nation. Martin was named the ECAC Defensive Player of the Year and earned a spot on the ECAC First Team while also earning a nod to the All-Region Second Team for her efforts in goal. Martin helped GU post 14 shutouts logging over 1,035 minutes in net.
- Natalie Means returns for her final season on the Hilltop after earning All-BIG EAST First Team honors a season ago. Means tallied five goals and seven assists which was good for 17 points on the season. Means earned a spot on the All-Region Second Team and was named a Third Team Scholar All-American.
- Lizzie Heller was named a TopDrawerSoccer Freshman All-American in 2024 garnering a spot on the second team for her performances in 2024. Heller was also tabbed as an All-BIG EAST Third Team selection after starting 21 games a season ago and tallying one goal and four assists from the midfield.
- Georgetown returns 22 players from last season including seven starters from last season.
- Head Coach Dave Nolan enters his 22nd season at the helm of the Hoyas and boasts a 284-96-65 career record. Nolan and staff were named the 2024 BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year for the fifth time dating back to 2007.
ABOUT OLD DOMINION
- ODU finished 2024 with a 10-6-4 overall record and a 5-2-3 mark in Sun Belt action.
- Gry Boe Thrysoe returns for the Monarchs in the midfield after starting all 20 games a season ago. Boe Thrysoe tallied two goals, and one assists while logging over 1,500 minutes of action.
- Head Coach Angie Hind enters her 12th season at the helm of the Monarchs.
ABOUT THE SERIES
- Georgetown is 1-0 against Old Dominion as the two sides met for the first time back in 2023 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
- GU secured a 2-1 victory behind goals from Brianne Riley and an overtime goal from Means.
- GU outshot the Monarchs 21-12 and held a 13-3 advantage in corner kicks.
