WASHINGTON - The Georgetown men's and women's cross country teams are set to head to Leesburg, Virginia on Friday, August 29 to start their seasons at the Trials of Miles Opening XC Night presented by New Balance and Tuscarora High School XC. The women's team enters the season ranked No. 12 in the national preseason poll from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) and is ranked second in the Mid-Atlantic Region. The men's team is ranked No. 28 in the USTFCCCA national preseason poll and second in the mid-atlantic region preseason poll.

- The meet begins at 6:35 p.m. ET with the women's 5,000-meter race. The men's 6,000-meter race is set for 6:55 p.m. ET.

The women's squad will return for their second event of the season on September 13 when they travel to Annapolis, Maryland for the Cantello Invitational hosted by Navy. The men's squad will return on October 3 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh.
