WASHINGTON – The No. 21/25 Georgetown University women's soccer team will host the UConn Huskies on Saturday, September 27 as part of a doubleheader with the Hoya men's team. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m. at Shaw Field on the campus of Georgetown University.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
- Georgetown (6-2-2, 2-0 BE) defeated the Seton Hall Pirates 3-1 on Wednesday evening securing the Hoyas second win of the conference slate. Natalie Means, Maja Lardner and Shay Montgomery all notched goals in the contest.
- Montgomery tallied a goal and an assist en route to a three-point performance against the Pirates. Lizzie Heller tallied her first multi-assist game of her Hoya career assisting on the first and second goals for GU.
- Lardner scored her seventh goal of the season on Wednesday. Lardner, the reigning BIG EAST Offensive Player of the year, scored seven goals in conference action a season ago.
- Last week, Tippins tallied a goal and an assist against Creighton, earning her a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. It was Tippins' first honor of the season.
- Cara Martin has logged all 900 minutes in goal for the Blue & Gray and boasts a 0.90 goals-against average. The reigning BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year has three shutouts on the campaign and 26 saves to her credit.
- The Blue & Gray rank first in the BIG EAST in corners per game (6.90). Martin leads the conference in minutes played in goal (900). Lardner is second in the conference in shots per game (3.50). Tippins is second in the conference in game-winning goals with two to her credit this season.
- Dating back to 2021, Georgetown boasts a BIG EAST record of 29-2-9 and secured the regular season title in 2022, 2023 and 2024. GU won the BIG EAST Championship in three of the past four seasons (2021, 2022, 2023).
ABOUT UCONN
- UConn (5-2-2, 1-0-1 BE) is coming off a 1-1 draw at No. 24 Xavier on Wednesday evening. Farrah Stephens-Martin scored the equalizer in the 55th minute securing a hard-fought point on the road for the Huskies.
- Chioma Okafor, an All-BIG EAST First Team selection from a year ago paces the UConn offense with three goals on the season. Taylor Jenkins follows closely behind with two goals to her credit.
- Ava Yamas has logged 789 minutes in goal for the Huskies and boasts a 0.57 goals-against average. Yamas has 25 saves to her credit.
ABOUT THE SERIES
- This will be the 23rd all-time meeting between the two sides dating back to 1995. GU holds an 8-13-1 record against the Huskies.
- The Blue & Gray are 6-3-1 in the last 10 matchups against UConn. The last meeting between the two sides was the BIG EAST Championship semifinals in 2024. GU suffered a 2-0 defeat in the contest.
