WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University volleyball team will take part in Dig the District from Friday, September 5, through Sunday, September 7. The Hoyas open the weekend at home with a 6 p.m. matchup against North Carolina Central on Friday night. On Saturday, Georgetown heads across town to face George Washington at 4 p.m. before returning to McDonough Arena on Sunday for a 1 p.m. contest against Temple.

About the Hoyas
- Georgetown enters the third year under Head Coach AJ Bonetti. The Hoyas finished last season with a 4-14 mark in conference play and an overall record of 11-19.
- The Hoyas are averaging 11.0 kills per set with a .177 hitting percentage, while adding 13.9 digs and 2.1 blocks per set on defense.
- Dionna Mitchell and Samantha Soderlund lead the offense through opening weekend, each recording 30 kills and averaging 3.00 per set. Mitchell paced the attack with a .163 hitting percentage, with Soderlund close behind at .125.Maria Filippova ranks third on the squad with 18 kills, averaging 2.57 per set.
- Kamryn Lee-Caracci and Juleigh Urbina both notched three service aces apiece over the weekend, which leads the team.
- At the net, Berkeley Ploder leads the defense with nine total blocks (1.29 per set), followed by Urbina with six.
- Graduate transfer Jade Smith made a strong debut, posting 40 digs and averaging 4.44 per set across her first weekend for the Blue & Gray.
- The Hoyas also welcome five newcomers to the roster in 2025: Jessica Lee, Katherine McGregor, Sydney Mercado, Fiona Turnbull, and Samantha Soderlund.
